Shorty, civil Rene Kammermann, is a professional magician and entertainer from Switzerland with over 20 years of international stage experience. His performances take him to corporate events, galas, theaters and
TV productions at home and abroad.

René Kammermann was born in Schaffhausen (Switzerland) in May 1972. His keen interest in stagecraft, humor and non-verbal communication became apparent early on — skills that later became the basis of his artistic career.
René Kammermann received the decisive impulse to magic during a stay in Las Vegas. Attending an extraordinary slapstick magic show awakened his fascination for visual magic and comedy — a key moment that laid the foundation for his later career.
1997—1999
Attendance at various magic courses and first public appearances as an amateur magician in Switzerland.
1999—2001
Professional magician training with Hörbi Kull at the Zurich School of Magic.
Basics of classical magic, stage presence and professional performance design.
2001—2003
Intensive continuing education through national and international magic seminars and workshops.
Additional training in acting, movement and stage presence at Scuola Teatro Dimitri in Verscio (Switzerland).

Study trip to the USA. Deepening in classical magic and slapstick comedy at Jim Cellini.
Production of the short stage program “Shorty Blues”

Development of the stage character Shorty in its current form.

Guest appearance at the Variety night as part of the Freiburg Künstlerbörse.

Nomination for Daidogei World Cup in Shizuoka (Japan).
Ten appearances as part of the world's largest international variety and circus festival in Asia.
Participation in the talent show at Teatro Duo Fischbach.

Continuous development of the stage character Shorty.
