Straight to the movie.Magic is something very special for children. No other audience can so cordially Be amazed, laugh and cheer along like kids. But they're also honest — if they don't like it, they say it openly or just get up and go. That is exactly what makes children a authentic and honest audience, which many magicians love and respect at the same time.
I've been over since 20 years as a magician for kids on — and I don't really have a classic children's program. And that's exactly what works wonderfully! My stage character Shorty Is a big child himself, full of humor, curiosity and heart. Together with the little spectators, this creates magical, funny and unforgettable moments.
Shorty has been conjuring and giving for many years Magic crash courses for kids — including the renowned JUPS Children's Theatre Festival, at SH holiday pass, at Children's Play Day Chur, Children's playday Stein am Rhein and at many schools in Switzerland.
I also teach at the Schaffhausen University of Education (PHSH) Prospective teachers in courses on how they can integrate simple magic tricks into lessons with their students — playfully, creatively and instructively.
How old should a child be to enjoy the magic show?
From about 5 to 6 years Can children follow the magic tricks and classify them correctly. Younger children often still experience the magician as a mysterious figure — similar to fairy tales.
When does a show for children only make sense?
For kids in Kindergarten to 3rd grade I recommend a purely children's show. From the 3rd grade onward, one often fits Family show Better, where adults also have fun.
Does a mixed group (1st-6th grade) go?
Yes, it works — but the smaller ones benefit a bit less, as some tricks are more complex. But everyone is guaranteed to have fun!
How should the children sit?
Preferably not directly on the ground. A small “amphitheatre” arrangement is ideal: gym benches or mats at the front, chairs behind them and tables in the back where children can sit. That way everyone sees well and the atmosphere stays lively.
Do the kids learn anything on the show?
No — in my Children's show is about being amazed, laughing and thinking, not for learning. Learning is up to teachers, I ensure entertainment and enthusiasm.
Do you also give magic courses?
Yes, I offer Crash courses for children from the 3rd grade on. For smaller children, craft and hands-on formats are more suitable — I am happy to advise teachers with suitable materials.
How much does a children's magic show cost?
The price depends on the frame. Basically are Daytime gigs during the week slightly cheaper. You can me anytime non-binding and free inquiries.
Are the children involved in the show?
Definitely! Children may Actively conjurewithout being embarrassed. Humor and fun are part of it — but people laugh at the magician, not at the child.
